Welcome to the New York Homebirth Website
This website has been created by a group of midwives in NYS and NJ to help you find an experienced licensed homebirth midwife in your area. It includes listings of midwives with informative bios and contact information. Learn about their practices, link to their individual websites, find information about the safety of homebirth and discover resources that will help you have the safe satisfying birth that you have been looking for. In addition to the communities listed on this site, there are other links on the resource page that may help you find a midwife.
Licensed homebirth midwives (CNMs/CMs) have a wide scope of practice. Like our hospital-based sisters, we offer care for women throughout their lifetime. If you are pregnant, we offer prenatal care and standard testing, herbal, homeopathic and holistic health care. During your homebirth we take the measures to make sure that you and your baby are safe. We also visit postpartum. You don't have to be pregnant to take advantage of the gentle care of a midwife. Many of us also provide a full scope of well woman gyn care including annual exams, contraceptives, pap smears and menopause health.
